The Asylum Seeker Advocacy ProjectThe Asylum Seeker Advocacy Project (ASAP) works to prevent wrongful deportations by connecting refugee families to community support and emergency legal aid. ASAP was founded in May 2015 as a volunteer effort led by four law school classmates: Conchita Cruz, Swapna Reddy, Dorothy Tegeler, and Liz Willis. Since then, ASAP has prevented the deportation of over 400 refugees in more than 30 states, provided support to more than 2,500 refugee mothers through a private online community, and mobilized over 750 volunteers to carry out this work across the country. ASAP is a project of the Urban Justice Center, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and our fiscal sponsor.
