MLL Student Reference Guide: WorldCat and ILL

This guide is a resource for college students of all ages who need support while performing online research

Understanding Interlibrary Loans

Interlibrary loan is the process of one institution borrowing from another through an official request system. This may be helpful to you if you are doing online coursework and need access to your University Libraries. It is not only for books. You can also use it to request articles and other necessary sources. If it is an article you are looking for, submit the request to your University because they can send you the PDF of what you are looking for. if it is a book, use Mattituck-Laurel Library because the pickup location may be more convenient.

The service is meant to access materials for research and academic purposes. If the book costs less than $20, an institution will not send it.

Interlibrary Loans

This is the process for my University. Your University may be different, but I am happy to help you with a request. If you are in a remote learning program, coming into the Mattituck-Laurel Library or emailing me or reference@mattlibrary.org with your requests will be easier.
